Caramello Koalas are some of the most underappreciated chocolates, not many people know that in its prime, it was right there with Freddo Frogs. I’d wager that its peak in popularity was higher than peak Freddo Frogs. Freddo just had the better Cadbury marketing team, while Caramello had to carry his marketing team.
He’s one of the best in the NBA by most advanced stats. Last year the Hornets were 9 points per 100 possessions better on defense with him on the court. The year before it was 8. He was a net positive on offense both years too.
But he’s young, and Melo and Lebron are two of the best offensive players of all time.
MKG plays his typical great defense- Melo and LeBron simply hit just about everything they threw up there. Especially the LeBron game- LeBron was taking the exact shots that you would live with him taking- contested jumpers anywhere from 15-30 feet out, he just hit everything. There is nothing at all you can do when someone as skilled as Melo or LeBron gets that hot.
Yeah but that was some bullllllshit they went back and “reviewed” the footage and decided that one of his credited rebounds was actually (I think) a Ben Wallace tap to Lebron. Bizarre NBA overreach because many rebounds that game were actually Wallace’s but they didn’t change any others.
This was my first live NBA experience. I’d just landed in NYC after a long-ass flight from Australia. I had no plans that night and figured tickets would be cheap (because Bobcats). It turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip and something I’ll never forget. Carmelo is forever my boy.
