I did a quest where I had to follow him to a location (main quest line, I don’t wanna spoil anything). Once we got to the destination I decided to do something else, and Dogmeat decided to stop following me. Turns out he’s locked to that location until I proceeded with the quest and completed it.
If you’re having trouble finding him at any of your settlements. Try goto your quest locations and see if he’s hanging out there.
9/10 times, when something pops out of nowhere and scares the shit out of me, it’s him. 9/10 times whenI’m sneaking up on people and they catch sight of me, it’s because that idiot just leeroy jenkinsed a pile of raiders. 9/10 times I can’t fit through a door or get stuck on something, it’s that fucking dog.
finally just figured out how to get rid of him 40 hour sinto the game; I thought “dismiss” was “dismiss what I just said and lets get back to roaming the wasteland”. stupid one word menu talk
I spent such a long time waiting for Dogmeat and a certain escort quest guy to get in the fucking elevator. I kept clicking Dogmeat and telling him to sit in the back corner of the elevator. It worked the first time but the second time they both got stuck and seriously after 5 or 6 minutes of trying to push them out or coax them in I said fuck it and left without them and then they just both glitched in and … ok.
